    COMMISSIONING OF WATER & TOILET FACILITY AT GOVERNMENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE PORT HARCOURT

    THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN RIVERS STATE UBE BOARD VEN. F. N. AKAH COMMENDED PIND AND THE ROTARY CLUB (GRA) FOR BUILDING WATER AND TOILET FACILITY AT GOVERNMENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE PORT HARCOURT

     

     

    The Executive Chairman of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board Ven. Faceface Ndubuisi Akah has commended the Foundation For Partnership in the Niger Delta (PIND) and the Rotary Club (GRA) Port Harcourt for building a water and toilet facility at the Government Technical College Port Harcourt.

    The Chairman gave the commendation during the Commissioning of the facilities as well as the inauguration of the newly formed Water Sanitation and Hygiene Clubs at the school.

    He noted that the sacrifice made by PIND and others to the school has put an end, the idea of leaving government with the burden of developing the society alone calling on well-meaning individuals and stakeholders to join hands to move every Sector of the economy forward.

    Ven. Akah maintained that the State Governor Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is determined to renovate schools in the State and make learning environment conducive for the children.

    The UBE boss who expressed disappointment at the dilapidated structures and the dirty environment said the Board will not hesitate to invite the teachers on the need to do something about the school environment pointing out that the Government Technical College is among the schools in the plans of schools to be renovated in 2017.

    In their separate speeches the PIND WASH Coordintor, Timi Kiakubu CFID Director, Mr. Belema Ogbuigwe and the Rotary Club (GRA)President, Rotarian Arthur Kalagbor expressed gratitude to God for making the day a reality and promised to embark on projects that will better humanity and called on the Children to make good use of the facilities.

    In another development, the Executive Chairman Ven. Fyneface Akah has inaugurated a Sector Plan Committee of the Board with Evangelist Emmanuel Ogbugo as Chairman and Mrs. Joy Ojirika as secretary.

    Rs-SUBEB needs to take steps to get partners back on the table to replicate and scale-up the progress that we made at GTC Port Harcourt and ONSS Okrika in 2017..

    Access to safe water, sanitation/toilets and hygienic environment and food by girls and boys at school is will m educational targets are met.
